I suppose that my first interaction with Italian heritage was growing up in an Italian community in Brooklyn, New York. Going to high school, the majority of my friends were Italian-American, and as a result I dated a lot of girls with Italian heritage. Literally every girl I dated was either partially or entirely Italian, so I spent about 50% of my life spending time in Italian households.
Needless to say, through my interactions I found Italian men to be friendly and extremely charismatic, and Italian women to be charming, beautiful, and passionate. Spending so much time around them kind of made me feel like I was taking on a third nationality for myself, or as my friend put it, “becoming an honorary Italian.”
